About the lab
The McCreery Lab studies how mechanical forces and the extracellular matrix (ECM) regulate cell fate, tissue assembly, and disease progression. Our questions are applicable to fibrosis and regeneration across tissues, including cardiac, lung, and musculoskeletal systems.
We combine cutting-edge techniques in live-cell microscopy, multi-omics data integration, atomic force microscopy, and stem cell biology to uncover how cells sense and respond to their microenvironment. We are investigating mechanisms that will guide the design of scaffolds and regenerative therapies that integrate seamlessly with native tissue.
Our mission is to do good science, to engineer solutions that will help people, and to train the next generation of doctors, medical scientists, and engineers.
