The McCreery Lab investigates how mechanical and extracellular cues are transmitted to the nucleus and encoded into persistent changes in chromatin and cell state.
By integrating engineered microenvironments, quantitative mechanobiology, live-cell imaging, atomic force microscopy, stem-cell models, and genomic approaches, we connect physical signals across scales from extracellular matrix (ECM) architecture and force transmission to nuclear organization and epigenetic regulation.
Our goal is to define the mechanisms that establish, maintain, and potentially reverse pathological cell states in fibrosis, regeneration, and tissue remodeling.
